Heart’s Calling
During my university days, a powerful moment unfolded one hot summer afternoon during my post-graduate studies. I found myself seeking refuge from the sun under the shade of a building when I witnessed a scene that would stay with me forever. A person callously threw coins at a deformed leprosy patient on a cart. This patient, lacking fingers, struggled in vain to retrieve the coins from the nearly melting road. In a heart-wrenching turn of events, the disabled man had no choice but to lie down, using his lips to collect the coins. This experience deeply stirred my emotions, leading me to make a heartfelt commitment to do something meaningful for leprosy patients.
My Goals
Motivated by the profound encounter with the struggles of a leprosy patient during my post-graduate days, my overarching goal is to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of individuals facing similar challenges. With empathy as my compass, I aspire to create initiatives that provide support, raise awareness, and foster inclusivity for leprosy patients. My dedication extends beyond mere compassion; I aim to actively work towards breaking down societal stigmas associated with leprosy, advocating for their rights, and implementing tangible solutions to improve their quality of life. Through these efforts, my ultimate goal is to create a more compassionate and understanding world for those affected by leprosy.
