Community Mobilization
Since 1982, I've actively engaged in diverse community work, collaborating with groups affected by leprosy, mental health challenges, disabilities, tribal communities, farmers, Dalits, and women. Spanning various sectors, my career reflects a commitment to positive change and empowerment. Urban Solid Waste Management
Between 1998 and 2001, I led a pioneering urban solid waste management initiative in Bhubaneswar. I designed and implemented an efficient waste transportation and treatment model, later replicated in Paradeep and Berhampur. Corporate Houses in Angul and Damanjodi adopted the model, expanding its impact. Recognizing its significance, the State Government honored me for exemplary contributions, highlighting the innovative, leadership-driven success in urban solid waste management under my direction.
Biomedical Waste Management
As the primary consultant for the Government of Odisha/World Bank project, I played a pivotal role in implementing the Biomedical Waste Management System. My responsibilities included reviewing the legal framework, designing comprehensive training programs, and devising effective implementation strategies. A notable contribution was the development of the cost-effective Containment Area model for biomedical waste treatment. The government's endorsement and adoption of both the training and implementation model, as well as the Containment Area, underscore the successful integration of my consultancy into the state's biomedical waste management initiatives.
Liquid Waste Management
